Accessibility for Visitors with Disabilities
The Museumplein Ice Rink is fully designed with accessibility for everyone in mind. In collaboration with Uniek Sporten, various measures have been implemented to ensure that visitors with disabilities can participate safely and comfortably.
Step-free access and wide pathways: The entire venue is step-free and features wide paths that provide ample space for wheelchairs. Where necessary, ramps have been installed to safely bridge height differences. Rubber mats are placed around the ice rink for extra grip and safety.
Sanitary facilities: A wheelchair-accessible restroom is available with sufficient maneuvering space, support bars, and a lowered sink. The hospitality area is also easily accessible for wheelchair users, and table service can be provided upon request.
Access to the ice rink: Wheelchair users can enter the rink with their own wheelchair (with a clean underside) or with specially adapted wheelchair sleds. Various assistive devices and support are available on-site, and staff are trained to assist wheelchair users on and around the ice.
Information and support: Visitors can find detailed information about facilities, available support, and registration options for assistive devices or guidance on the rink on the dedicated accessibility page of the website.
With these measures, the Museumplein Ice Rink ensures that visitors with physical disabilities can fully enjoy the winter fun in the heart of Amsterdam.
