Skating Together
Connecting on the ice
Every Tuesday afternoon, the Skating Rink Museumplein focuses on Skating Together. During this weekly activity, experienced skaters are paired with people who cannot (yet) skate so well. This is not just about skating itself, but mainly about meeting, supporting and having fun together.
How does Skating Together work?
During Skating Together, experienced skaters guide participants who want to learn to skate or just want to make a few quiet rounds. Conversely, experienced seniors can also be paired with younger or inexperienced skaters. This creates a beautiful interaction where everyone learns from each other.
The activity revolves around:
✔️ Social connection – getting to know new people in an accessible way
✔️ Fun and movement – being active in the fresh air
✔️ Inclusion – space for young and old, experienced and inexperienced
Who is Skating Together for?
- For people seeking guidance on the ice
- For seniors who want to stay active and meet others
- For experienced skaters who want to share their passion
- For anyone looking for a fun, sporty afternoon
When does Skating Together take place?
Every Tuesday afternoon
16:00 – 18:00
Skating Rink Museumplein, Amsterdam
Free participation, including skate rental
Skating Together is completely free. Participants get free access to the ice rink and can rent skates for free. This way we make this activity accessible to everyone, without financial barriers.
A valuable experience
Skating Together shows how sport can connect people. Young and old, experienced and inexperienced, Amsterdammers and newcomers meet each other in a unique way. The ice thus forms a place where trust, cooperation and conviviality are central.
